This municipality is located in the Šibenik-Knin County and, according to tradition, was founded after the first settlers fled from the Turks. By the way, the territory of Dalmatia saw up to six wars between the Venetians and the Turks, so it was necessary to constantly move and look for new places of refuge. Tisno was first mentioned in 1474 and belonged to the parish of Murter until the founding of the parish of Tisno, to which the Church of the Holy Spirit was dedicated. The Church of the Holy Spirit is one of the most famous sights in Tisno. Among other sights we also count the churches of Our Lady of Karavaj, St. Andrew and St. Rok.

There are a large number of remains of medieval and ancient buildings on the island of Murter, but it is still the most visited precisely because of its beautiful beaches and bathing resorts. The most famous of them is probably the Slanica beach, which is adorned with exceptionally clean water. It's a sandy beach that takes visitors' breath away. Murter is the closest place to the Kornati islands, so tours on the Kornati often start from this island, and at the same time it is possible to visit most of the park if someone chooses this route.
